First Impressions: L'Oreal 12HR infallible Never Fail Liquid Liner

Hey ladies.  So this is my first First Impressions review on my blog.  I wanted to start off with L'Oreal's 12HR infallible liquid liner.  I am in need of a new liner so I thought I'd go towards a drug store brand...something affordable and had good reviews.

This is what it reads on the back of the package:

For flawlessly clean lines as precise as 0.4 mm, L'Oreal Paris introduces The Super Slim by Infallible eyeliner.  The ultra-fine felt tip gives you total control, delivering the perfect amount of liner.  The intense quick dry 12HR formula glides on smoothly with continuous and even flow.  In one stroke create sleek & sophisticated eye designs.

The felt tip is kinda stiff when you first use it.  It goes on pretty smooth and is very black.  Only down fall during application is that it gets a little bumpy looking when you drag it across your lids so you'll have to go back to smooth out the line.  After applying the liner, you do have to let it dry a bit first so it doesn't catch on your lids.  (mostly speaking to my monolid girls)

Another downfall is that when you are a contact wearer like me and need to clean your contacts or use drops, the liner smudges in certain areas.  For me, it was the inner corners.  Not a cute look!

Overall, it was a good liner and didn't smudge as much.  But I will say, I will not be purchasing this again and will keep to my either my Lorac Pro liner or a gel liner sine I feel like it glides on smoother than this L'Oreal one.

FYI: I tried this liner for the first time on Saturday, the 12th, and have been using it since then to just use it up and see if my opinions have changed on it.  Still smudges a bit on the lids for me but I did notice that when I did clean my contacts and/or used eye drops, I didn't get that smudge in my inner corners or anywhere else.  So over a little time, it has become a better product than the first use.

Lorac Mint Edition Pallet

After owning the Lorac Pro pallet for the past couple months, I wanted to try some more eye shadows and/or pallets of theirs and eventually branch into the rest of their products.

This is the recent pallet that I purchased off www.hautelook.com.  Lorac's Mint Edition pallet.  I am IN LOVE with this pallet!!  I love the cute packaging of this pallet, even though the Lorac name tag is not centered correctly.  lol

Here are the matte shades from lightest to darkest.

(Sorry the light matte brown doesn't show up that great on my arm.)

The lightest matte shade has glittery flecks in it so makes me wonder why they categorized it as matte and this is the shade that is chalky.

The two shades on the left are the highlighter and blush.  I have not worn neither one yet.

Then we have the shimmery shades from lightest to darkest.

All the shades has the same smoothness and creamy texture as the shadows in the Pro pallet.  Some of the colors do have some chalkiness to it and a bit of fall outs (like the lightest matte shade) but it's ok, I can still work with it.

This is the "lipstick" that comes with the pallet.  It's their Exclusive Couture Shine Liquid Lipstick in Retro.

I like the shade of this "lipstick" since it's a nude pink color but it has the stickiness of most lip glosses, which I do not like.  Not sure why they called this a lipstick either.

Hope this post makes you want to branch out into the Lorac brand more.

GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD Hydrating Treatment Review

Hey ladies, I'm back today with my review on the GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD Hydrating Treatment.

I have heard all the rave about this off a couple of the lovely YouTube beauty gurus a couple months back but didn't know if I wanted to spend the money on it.  After seeing my youngest sister buy this and loving it, I thought I'd give it a shot too.

I bought mine off Sephora's website for $69 with a couple of other products.

When I received this product, I was super excited to try it out in hopes that it'll help with the dry skin I have on the top and tip of my nose, around my nose and on my chin.  This winter weather does quite a number to my skin, as to most people who live in cold ass weather states.

I must say, after the first use, I was really impressed.  My dry skin was in pretty good shape the next day.  I noticed a difference in how smooth and nice looking my skin was after applying my CC cream and concealer.  No more noticeable patchy dry spot on my nose!  And to me, that's always a plus.

Since it says the you should use two to three times a week or as needed.  The first week I had this product, I used it every other day on the week days only.  By the third time, my nose wasn't as smooth as it was after the first use.  I thought this product was a let down but decided to continue applying it every other day for a while longer to see if it was just a fluke since your skin usually needs a week to adjust to new skincare products and/or makeup.

After that first week use, my skin adjusted to this product and my nose wasn't dry or crackly looking and my dry patches on my chin are in pretty good shape too.  I will continue my usage of this product 3 times a week until the warmer weather comes and then I might have to change it up.  We'll see how this plays out then.

So overall, I must say this was worth the money spent since you don't need too much product and you aren't using it daily.  Plus, this product smells wonderful and leaves a minty, tingly feeling after application.  My daughter is so silly.  Every time I put this on before bed, she'd come to me and ask "Mommy, what's that smell?"  Then she would smell my face and say "mmmmmm.  You smell so good."  LOL  That's my little diva for you.

I would recommend anyone with dry skin or lives in a cold, wintery state like I do to give this product a shot.

BB & CC Creams

For about the past month or two, I have been loving CC creams instead of foundation.  I love the light coverage it gives and how it evens out your skintone with all these great benefits for your skin rolled into one product.

I started out by trying BB creams, but most of the popular ones where mainly sold online.  I didn't want to I have to guess at the correct shade since I read mix reviews about the shades and how they look after it oxidizes.

The first BB cream I tried was actually the Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream in the light/medium shade.  I liked it at first due to the lightness and evenness it gave my skin BUT the only thing that I hated about it was that it felt super wet and sticky after being applied on.  I don't know about you guys but I hate when a foundation, tinted moisturizer, BB cream, CC cream, etc. feels super sticky and wet and doesn't set fast.  I just hate that sticky feeling like you're gonna smudge and move the product all over your face so you have to set it quick.  I used about half of the bottle and then stopped.

Next BB cream I tried was Pacifica's Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream, that I got as a sample from one of my monthly ipsy bags. Granted I haven't used this in such a long time that I can't say for sure what my thoughts are on this anymore but I'm sure it was similar to the Garnier one, left the sticky, wet feeling after application.

I believe I received another brand's BB cream in another monthly ipsy bag but can't seem to find it at the moment so I can't tell you the name of it.  But it was a light coverage as well, not the greatest but still light.

After a couple tries with these BB creams, I went back to using foundation.

Then up til a few months ago, I discovered the first CC cream that I absolutely love.  The Paul Thomas Roth CC Cream Complexion Corrector that I mentioned in an earlier post. This CC cream just made my skin look flawless.  I love how it makes my skin look even and hides all my imperfections, like the dark circles I get from lack of sleep.  The great thing about this CC cream is that it still looks pretty good by the end of my work day, which is a plus!

I've also tried the Lorac CC Color Correcting Cream in CC2 Medium that I got as a sample from my Lorac Pro purchase.  This one I felt is the same as the BB creams, leaving my face feeling sticky before I use transuclent powder to set it in place.  Other than that, it was good light coverage.  Will still continue to use it til I'm out of the sample.

I got the Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream in light as a sample too and have been using that on and off to conserve the life of my Paul Thomas Roth one.  I think this one is my second favorite since it does almost as much as the Paul Thomas Roth brand. 

Overall, I think CC creams are better for me since I like the way they feel on my skin.  And I love how they don't make you feel or look cakey at all at the end of the day.

I hope this gives you guys a little bit of info on some BB and CC creams out there (and there's A LOT out there).  Don't hesitat to try these, especially if you're older and don't like the heavy foundation on a day to day basis.

Happy New Year!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all!!  I hope everyone had a great time celebrating.  I sure did with my little fam and some friends.

Any new year resolutions for anyone this year?  As for me, I made no new year resolutions this year.  I just want my family and friends to have a happy and healthy life this year, that's all.  Besides, that I find that when I make new year resolutions, they're always broken by the end of January anyways and it seems to always be the same resolution: lose some weight!  lol  I will no longer be making that a resolution of mine but just take it as I need to be healthy for my kids.

Anyways, on to the post!

I've been wanting the Lorac Pro pallet for quite some time but with the price, I didn't want to get it either.  I kept on debating until I saw Ulta having this awesome deal for the holidays so I took advantage and got it... 3 in fact.  haha 

But with the Lorac Rockin' Red Hot Pro Set, you get the Pro pallet, a mini eye primer and a liquid liner.  I think it's a great deal, especially at only $39 compared to the pallet being sold alone at $42.

I love that this pallet has 8 matte colors and 8 shimmery colors that work so well with each other.  I have been using the pallet often and have been mixing the mattes with the shimmers to create great every day looks to more dramatic looks.  Every color is just simply beautiful. 

The only downfall this pallet has is that some of the shimmery shades are a bit chalky feeling and powdery.  You just have to make sure you pat the product on instead of swiping it on due to the fall out you'll get.

But other than that, this is one of the best pallets I own and am glad I have it in my collection.

The matte shades are:

white, cream, taupe, light pink, mauve, sable, espresso, black

The shimmer shades are:

nude, champagne, gold, light bronze, pewter, garnet, deep purple, slate

I've been using the eye primer since I got this and can I say, I LOVE it?!  It doesn't make any shadows crease or smudge off.  The liner is a must have also.  I absolutely love this liner since it doesn't smudge or crease on me as well.  It just stays put all day, which is a must in my book with my awesome Asian.  haha


With that being said, I hope that if you are debating whether or not to add this pallet to your collection, you just go for it and add it.  It will be a great investment.

Peter Thomas Roth Camu Camu Anti Wrinkle Brightening Kit Review

Hey ladies!!  I'm back today with a skincare review on a product I've been using the past month.

I bought this at Sephora after I had a little mishap with the Ole Henriksen's The Whole Truth Vitamin C Kit making my skin drier and a little more irritated than usual.

I must say, I LOVE this kit more than the Whole Truth Kit.  It didn't dry out my skin at all!  And smells a lot better than the other kit as well.  The only thing that sucks about this kit is that it's a limited edition so I got to go get myself a back up set ASAP!

Pros:

Can see results after a full day's use.  (My face looked brighter than it did before I used this.)

Has a nice citrus scent that's not too strong and over the top.

Helped my dry skin within a couple day's worth of usuage.

The CC cream is AMAZING on my skin.  (by far, the best CC cream I have tried)
Each product doesn't feel too oily or greasy on.

Cons:

The CC cream color isn't identified on the package since they failed to add that to the bottle so you just gotta pray and hope that the kit you picked has your shade. (I lucked out and got the medium/tan shade that matches me)

No eye cream that goes with the kit :(

It's PRICEY!! (and even pricey-er sold separately)

I don't have a lot of bad things to say about this product since I think this is a GREAT product.

I'm glad the sales girl in Sephora helped me when I was in the store and sold me on buying this product.

Battle It Out: Drugstore brand Volumizing Waterproof Mascara

Hey ladies!!  It's been forever and a day since I blogged.  Unforunately, I had to create a new blog since my old one was giving me trouble with not even letting me edit a post.  I guess it is what it is. 

To start things off, I thought I'd battle out my two favorite drugstore brand waterproof volumizing mascaras.  (I am not one to like regular mascara at all since my straight Asian lashes don't stay curled)

In the first corner, the one I've been using for years, Covergirl Lashblast Waterproof Mascara.

Pros:

Holds the curls in my lashes great

Gives me great looking lashes after 2 coats

I feel it gives my lashes a little more length as well

Doesn't pick up too much product

Cons:

The brush is too big (mainly for my lower lashes)
A pain in the butt to get off at the end of the day (I still find I get a little "racoon" eyed in the mornings)

In the second corner, Maybelline Falsies Waterproof Mascara.

Pros:

Holds the curls in my lashes

Looks good after 2 coats

Easier to take off at the end of the day

Cons:
Too much product comes out with the brush after the first couple uses
I don't know how I feel about the curled wand (pro & con)

Overall, I love the Lashblast more so than the Falsies but I wouldn't mind having both still in my makeup collection.  I say give both a try regardless what type of lashes you have to see which you prefer. 

Oh and what I have been doing lately is putting on one coat of the Falsies and then a coat of Lashblast on top.  Makes my lashes look better, in my opinion.
